M. Shane Canfield is the chief executive officer of WAEPA, where he has led the organization through significant growth since joining in 2016, expanding membership, enhancing products and services, and strengthening financial performance. He brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience in the nonprofit group insurance and member benefits sector, including prior service as executive director of the Council on Employee Benefits. Canfield’s expertise includes strategic planning, board and stakeholder engagement, coalition building and ensuring sound financial operations.
