Stephanie is responsible for the strategic direction of Gallup’s research at the K-12 and postsecondary levels. Stephanie was the sample and design architect for Gallup’s largest education studies, including the Gallup Alumni Survey which measures short- and long-term outcomes of a college degree, the Google-Gallup Computer Science Education study measuring attitudes toward and demand for computer science education nationally, and the Gallup-New Schools Venture Fund Study assessing attitudes toward and experiences with education technology. Her work also includes large-scale, institution-wide employee engagement efforts and other complex web, mail and telephone-based studies.
Stephanie has worked with more than 100 institutions, foundations, agencies and nonprofit organizations designing custom research at the K-12 and postsecondary levels. This research has included hundreds of thousands of interviews with various stakeholders, including faculty and staff, teachers, superintendents, principals, graduates, students and parents. Before her current role, Stephanie served as chief methodologist for Gallup. She was responsible for the sample design, data collection approach and methodology for Gallup’s public release studies in the education and workforce development areas.
Prior to joining Gallup, Stephanie was a researcher in the education division at Westat, a research firm specializing in complex social science studies for the federal government, state agencies and foundations. While at Westat, Stephanie worked on large-scale, complex, multimode education studies for the U.S. Department of Education, including the National Household Education Survey, Postsecondary Education Quick Information System, Fast Response Survey System, Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, and other quantitative and qualitative research projects for education foundations and organizations.
